Beverley & District Motor Club are thrilled to confirm that the East Riding Stages Rally will open the 2025 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship.

The UK’s premier sealed-surface series had 200 registered competitors in 2024, and with a full calendar of closed road rallies across the UK, the championship is shaping up to be action-packed in 2025.

The East Riding Stages Rally has rapidly become a key fixture in the UK's motorsport calendar. Scheduled for February 23, 2025, the rally includes a spectator superspecial stage and ceremonial start/finish in Beverley town centre.

Championship Co-ordinator Paul Morris welcomes the event back onto the roster: “The Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship are delighted to be returning to the East Riding Stages Rally as opening round of the championship, and we’re looking forward to working with Beverley & District Motor Club and their members to deliver an unforgettable event.”

The rally will see the country’s best tarmac drivers from the Protyre Asphalt Championship pitted against each other on ten challenging special stages on closed public roads across East Yorkshire.

"The East Riding Stages Rally is very pleased to once again welcome competitors from the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship to experience the wonderful hospitality of the East Riding of Yorkshire,” said Matthew Atkinson, the Clerk of the Course for the event.

"The stages have been incredibly popular with both public and competitors in previous years. As the event has been oversubscribed on all three previous occasions, we've tweaked the time schedule to allow us to run a record breaking 160 entries, which we hope will allow competitors from all invited championships, as well as the clubmen who have supported the event from the start, to be able to get a run."

The East Riding Stages Rally will begin with a ceremonial start in the Visit East Yorkshire FanZone, based in Beverley Saturday Market, setting the stage for a day of competitive rallying.

A short walk from the town centre FanZone, the Spectator Superspecial Stage will take place across Beverley Westwood, offering spectators a unique and thrilling view of the spectacular rally cars in action.

Adam Toes, Tourism Events & Projects Manager for Visit East Yorkshire, said: “This unique event is a great boost for tourism in the town, and a fantastic opportunity for visitors and residents to witness top class rally action. The return of the event is exciting news for motorsport fans in the region and one that we are looking forward to hosting next February.”

Both the FanZone and the Superspecial stage are completely free for spectators, connecting fans more closely with the event, right in the heart of Beverley.

“We aim to create an accessible and engaging environment that can be enjoyed by everyone, from seasoned motorsport enthusiasts to families,” added Cat Lund, the rally’s FanZone Director. “The superspecial stage across the Westwood offers fans the perfect opportunity to experience the excitement of rallying firsthand.”

Bringing the rally to a wider audience, the East Riding Stages Rally will be livestreamed online, and the Protyre Asphalt Championship action will be filmed and streamed live by Special Stage TV.
